Mike Gooden, Head PGA Professional

Mike Gooden is a native to the Shenandoah Valley having been born and raised in Staunton, Virginia.  Mike also earned his degree in Sports Management graduating from James Madison University in 2002 where he was a four year starter for the Men’s Golf Team. 

Mike’s previous tenure before Lakeview was working as an assistant professional at Frederica Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia.  Prior to his tenure at Frederica, he worked with PGA Tour Player Nick Price at McArthur Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida and earlier at the acclaimed Kinloch Golf Club in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia. 

As a playing professional Mike spent four summers competing on various mini-tours in South Florida, achieving several top finishes.  Recently, Mike captured the 2008 Georgia PGA Assistant’s Match Play Championship. 

Returning home to the Shenandoah Valley with Mike is his wife AnneMarie, daughter Ashleigh, and son Sean.
