Instruction Team

Mike Gooden (PGA Head Professional), John Rogers (Director of Instruction), and Shawn Harper (Assistant Professional) each bring a unique set of skills and experiences to golf instruction, but they all share a passion for helping golfers enjoy the game more. They work closely together to make sure that all the programs at Lakeview properly serve the various needs of the golfing community of the central Shenandoah Valley.

Our instructors have been tested in professional competition and educational programs, and they bring the cumulative experience of more than a quarter-century of teaching, having provided more than 15,000 lessons to over 2,000 clients. They have spent their adult lives learning from other golf professionals, including several national Top-100 instructors, and they take pride in sharing their knowledge and experience with the members and guests of Lakeview, with a focus on helping golfers to achieve their personal goals--whether there is a desire to learn the most basic fundamentals, to play high-level tournament golf, or something in between.
