Kurt has a long standing record of attention to detail. He strives to provide the patrons of Lakeview with the best golf course possible. He is an invaluable asset and much welcomed team member to the Lakeview Turf Management team. Currently, Kurt serves as Vice President of the Shenandoah Valley Turfgrass Association. Kurt received his Turf Management degree from North Carolina State University in 2000. Kurt lives in Waynesboro with his wife Meaghan, and two boys Ryan and Andrew.

Golf Course Superintendent Kurt Hellenga is now entering his fourth full season at Lakeview Golf Club. Born in Endwell, New York, Kurt has amassed an array of knowledge through his many experience during and prior to his arrival at Lakeview. 
Before coming to Lakeview, Kurt was Golf Course Superintendent at Lexington Golf & Country Club for 3 years. Prior to that Kurt, spent a year at Lake Shore Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina as the Head Superintendent, two years as an Assistant Superintendent at Chapel Hill Country Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and two years as a Turf Specialist at Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. 
Kurt's sidekick Abby, a Black Lab/Boxer mix, serves Lakeview well, too, as she works to help keep geese off the course. Abby has won awards for her job performance and was named "Lab of the Month" by the All Labs website.
